The Ironbridge Gorge

UNESCO World Heritage site and Ironbridge Valley of Invention.

In 1986 the Ironbridge Gorge was one of the first locations to be designated as a World Heritage Site within the UK. This award recognised the area’s unique and unrivalled contribution to the birth of the industrial revolution in the 18th Century, the impact of which is still felt across the world today.

Set within the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the amazing Ironbridge Valley of Invention is situated 5 miles from Telford Town Centre in Shropshire, attracting over 1 million visitors a year.
